She has also performed in many tango shows and festivals – including Glamourtango in Canada , China and New York and the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival with New Generation Dance Company
As a skilled organizer and motivator, Karina is known for coordinating tango workshops and seminars and tango shows with the best in the business. Most recently, she organized events with exceptional tango stars from Argentina — including Carlos Copello, Graciela Gonzalez, Guillermina Quiroga, Junior Cervila and Guadalupe Garcia, Leandro Oliver and Laila Rezk, Francisco Forquera and Natalia Hills and the superlative dancers Gabriel Misse and Analia Centurion. Major dance critics have reviewed these performers/teachers (and Karina) with great enthusiasm:
· Two exemplars of Argentine tango, Gabriel Missé and Guillermina Quiroga, danced spectacularly together for the first time anywhere in New York on Nov. 21. Perhaps we should call them the Fonteyn and Nureyev of tango (Alastair Macaulay New York Times 12/13/2015.
· The studio glowed with extreme elegance and romance when Gabriel Misse and Analia Centurion danced three tangos….That’s what they were doing at Dardo Galletto at half past midnight, when the students stopped practicing, and their enthusiastic hostess, Karina Romero, announced “Showtime!” (Brian Sebert, New York Times, 10/15/2012).
In October, 2016, Karina was featured, along with Gabriel Misse, on NBC’s “Date Night” episode of “1st Look” teaching hostess Ashley Roberts and comedian Francisco Ramos to tango (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t5WUxSANcY). She was also the subject of an interview for Revol, the online dance magazine, sharing her views on the passion and beauty of tango (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xe6THp6WjQc).
In the spring of 2016, Maestra Karina was invited to be the tango coach for movie star Liam Neeson in preparation for his 2017 film, “Felt”.
